Hello Bend! …Say Hello to Chomp Chomp Bend!
In our small town tucked away in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, we have some pretty amazing food. There are so many fantastic “Bend Original” restaurants to choose from. However, there is only a small offering of authentic Japanese food here. New to Bend’s Downtown food scene is Chomp Chomp Bend, a “Unique Pacific Northwest experience inspired by the Japanese Northwest.”
The owners of this restaurant are local to Bend and have a fun story of how the restaurant was “born over drinks with friends in Tokyo.” (Pictured below is the Tokyo Family)
Grand Opening
Chomp Chomp Bend will have its official Grand Opening on Saturday, March 14, 2020, from 12pm to 3pm. To celebrate their Grand Opening, Chomp Chomp has hired Larry Thomas, Seinfeld’s “Soup Nazi,” to serve you! Below is what they have to say about their “Ramen Nazi”:
“Larry Thomas, of Seinfeld ‘Soup Nazi’ fame, will be joining the grand opening! Go get an autograph or selfie and some ramen, but be careful or …” NO RAMEN FOR YOU! TWO WEEKS!!” And you can’t be banned until you have some delicious NW Japanese food washed down by a signature cocktail or one of the best brews Bend has to offer on tap.”
I asked around to get the inside scoop, and I was told the Yakitori, and Kushiage Skewers (pictured on the left) are AMAZING! Another menu highlight is the Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus…which has my name written all over it!
And these WonTacos are almost too beautiful to eat!
Chomp Chomp offers a comfortable atmosphere to gently expand your culinary horizon. Enjoy an excellent selection of local and Japanese craft brews and tasty cocktails inspired by Japanese aromatics and citrus, like the Something About Katie cocktail pictured below.
Chomp Chomp invites you to “delight yourself with delectable Kushiyaki and Kushiage fare during the day that pairs well with our signature cocktails. In the evening, be astounded by an exciting dinner menu bringing the best of the Northwest from two countries. Chomp Chomp is not just another Asian restaurant. It’s a place where you’re like family, where you can come to eat or drink and say ‘Wow! I didn’t know that even existed, and it was GREAT!'” ~ Denise Sampels, General Manager
On Friday and Saturday night from 10pm-1am ramen will be sold out of their “Late Night Ramen Window.” After a late-night show, it sounds like the perfect time to experience some of the best ramen in Bend! Hope to see you all there!
