Hello Bend! Are you hungry for an amazing burger? We’ve found it at the Bend Burger Company! With a downtown location near Drake Park and a second location on 3rd Street, this seems to be one of the go-to burger joints in Bend. Naturally we had to check it out for ourselves to see what all the hype was about. Love the warning as you walk through the front door…
Bend Burger Company does hand-pressed chuck steak burgers, grilled to order. Their fresh baked buns are the key to their great burgers. When you add the homemade sauce & fresh cut vegetables, you have yourself a winner!! You certainly don’t have to stick to a traditional burger, there are several great options on the menu…simply put, something for everyone. My choice for the day was the Mirror Pond Burger with Swiss cheese, grilled onions, and mushrooms. Absolutely Delish!
My husband had the Ponderosa with A1 sauce & onion rings. It looked so yummy I wanted to steal the onion rings right off his burger!
Speaking of sides, you can’t go wrong with the fries, classic or sweet potato tots, or beer battered onion rings. On my next visit, I will be sure to check out the Central Oregon Green Beans. Seared with seasoning and served with your choice of a bun-less burger, chicken or steak. Perfect for a healthy lo-carb option! On a side note, I would avoid the garlic fries. Although yummy, they had a little too much oil for my taste. I was hoping for garlic seasoned fries and these were soaked in garlic oil.
I don’t usually eat burgers, as I’m tying to maintain that girlish figure. As such, I tried to avoid this place when we moved here & my husband started eyeing it, but of course he eventually won the battle & we had to try it out. I was super excited to learn they have an impressive salad menu for a burger joint. I can’t wait to go back to try out the “Bend Burger Salad Bowl”…any burger on a salad! That means I can actually go to a burger joint and have an alternative option if I’m not in the mood for a full-blown burger. Other delicious options include steak, pulled-pork & chicken sandwiches. If you’re in the mood for a little comfort food, try the grilled cheese with tomato soup for those chilly days. Oh, and I can’t forget to mention hand-made chili is also on the menu during the winter months! Again, no fast-food here!
To top it off, what beverage is the best for washing down your burger? Beer or Milk Shake? You be the judge. Either way, there are plenty of local brews to choose from, and the hand-made milk shakes are definitely big enough to share! We now know why Bend Burger Company is a legend in this town. I know our family will enjoy many a burger, fries, and shakes here…along with all the other delicious items on the menu!
The downtown location is super popular for its cozy setting and outdoor seating in the warmer months. However, we have to give props to the 3rd Street location with the big indoor dining area and “Take Out Pick Up Lane”. Any chance for me to pick up dinner without getting out of the car is a huge bonus…especially if it IS NOT fast food! Just remember to call ahead for your order if you go this route as everything is made to order. Go ahead…Add their number to your contact list now. Trust me, you will be happy you did!
