Hello Bend! I am so excited to write the first official blog post for the new website. I hope you enjoy the new look and embrace the new name. As you may have noticed, I’ve been on a bit of a hiatus from posting new content on the Living the Bend Life blog. Last summer, I was legally requested to stop using the name “Living the Bend Life”. As you can imagine, it wasn’t easy coming up with a name that encompasses life in Bend, that isn’t already taken by others.
Finally, after months of ideas and trademark searches, at the suggestion of a friend, “Hello Bend” was born. I feel the new name embraces many different aspects of life in Bend and speaks to those for whom the blog is written. “Hello Bend” to those of you that are new to the area, “Hello Bend” to those of you that are planning to make a move or have the goal of moving to the area in the future, “Hello Bend” to those of you coming to our area for a visit, and “Hello Bend” to all the cool places, local products/services and adventures Central Oregon has to offer to all of you that are lucky enough to call Bend “home”!
One of my clients also brought to my attention how appropriate the name is for modern times as the town of Bend was originally called Farewell Bend. When the early pioneers moving west stopped in Bend, they were in awe of the beauty of this little mountain town. In fact, they often didn’t want to leave when it was time to move on so they bid a fond farewell to Bend and the name was born. Coming full circle as we have so many people migrating to Central Oregon from out of the area, Hello Bend would like to welcome you and provide you with the information and resources you need to make your time in this amazing area as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
So, what can you expect from “Hello Bend” moving forward? First off, I need to make up for lost time! Look for a more consistent posting schedule to get you guys up to speed and updates on past posts as so many things have changed. Based on the feedback we’ve received from so many of you, there will be more posts on Bend adventures, kids activities, local resources and Central Oregon real estate information.
As in the past, those moving to the area will have access to the “Hello Bend Insider List” providing recommendations to providers, services and more! The “Bend Bucket List” is great for those visiting the area detailing our favorite hot spots around town and things to do in the area.
I plan to partner with businesses to offer my readers discounts on products and services. Be sure to sign up for updates by clicking on the “subscribe” button to the right. Also, don’t forget to follow me on Instagram @hello_bend and the Hello Bend Facebook page so you don’t miss out on any new blog posts or special updates.
I am also talking with potential guest bloggers and contributors that can provide even more information beyond my general knowledge. Interested in fly-fishing, for example? Well, I am about the furthest thing from a fly fisherman, yet I can easily provide you with the information through an extended source.
With that said, if you have adventures or experiences you would like to share, I would love to collaborate with you. If you are a business, have amazing products to share or provide helpful services, I would love to collaborate with you. Please contact me at Brenda@HelloBendOR.com and let’s work together to promote everything Central Oregon has to offer and everything you may find valuable and helpful living here.
I am excited to share this new chapter and evolution of the blog with you. As Bend continues to change and grow so will this blog, so be sure to bookmark the site and subscribe to follow along. It’s my pleasure to officially welcome you to HELLO BEND!
