Trust me, you don’t want to miss Powder House’s annual Powder Palooza event. Is there a better way to launch the biggest pre-season winter snow gear sale of the year than to have an awesome party? There will be live music, FREE food provided by Baldy’s BBQ and FREE beer from Cascade Lakes Brewing Company! Powder House sure knows how to do it right!
This isn’t just the sale/party of the season, there will also be a food and clothing drive to help those in need. Be sure to bring in canned food and/or clothing to trade for raffle tickets. There will be tons of raffle prizes including Mt. Bachelor & Hoodoo season passes and a 2-night stay at Elk Lake Resort! With prizes like this, we will be sure to bring a bunch canned goods & clothing to help those in need and increase our odds of winning one of the awesome prizes. Wouldn’t it be cool to ride in this puppy during your stay at Elk Lake Resort…
Last year, the event attracted a huge crowd, so Saturday was more about the party than the sale for us…it can get crazy busy inside!
Although I did score a pair of killer ski pants that I just couldn’t pass up during Powder Palooza.
Since last year was our first winter in Bend and we knew we were planning to ski, we went back first thing Sunday morning to beat the crowd and take advantage of the great prices. The staff was very professional and really took their time with us to make sure our ski boots were the perfect fit. We also hit the jackpot with our skis. We were both able to score demo skis at over half off original retail price!
Since the little ones grow out of their stuff so quickly, we decided to take advantage of Powder House’s annual ski lease was the way to go for their boots & skis. For only $149 we were able to bring home all their equipment and keep it until the end of ski season. If they grow out of their boots or level up on their skis, we can bring them in and change them out at any time. Just getting started in the sport yourself? They also offer adult ski lease packages starting at just $249.
We were stoked…the Powder House set us up for a fun ski season on the mountain!
Speaking of the mountain, if you have not already made the drive to Mt. Bachelor, be sure to add it to your list soon. It is a winter wonderland! This is what it looked like when we went up there just a few weeks ago!
At this point, Mt. Bachelor is still closed, however there are plenty of areas at the base of the mountain to enjoy the snow. It was sheer joy to see the kids so excited to see snow for the 1st time this season! Last year, when we went up to the mountain for the first time, we didn’t really know what to expect. We weren’t properly dressed for snow play so that cut our visit short.
We sure learned our lesson, and this year we had the kids dressed in proper snow gear so we could stay for a while longer and get some legitimate snow play in. Even still, with it being so early in the season, we were not expecting so much snow or we would’ve brought the sled along too! Why wait for it to snow in Bend when you have a winter wonderland waiting for you only 25 minutes away?
Can’t wait to see you tomorrow at the Powder House and on the mountain this winter sporting your new gear and Living the Bend Life!
