Bend Aesthetics is a boutique, physician-owned medical spa offering skincare services, anti-aging injections such as Botox, filler, and NOW radio-frequency microneedling and IPL lasers!
Their Story
When Leslie Carey and Joel Hernandez pictured themselves growing into a new phase of their medical careers (Leslie is a physician and works as a Hospitalist and Joel is a Biomedical Nurse. They both work at St. Charles Bend), they thought about their enthusiasm for people, working with others to build confidence and their desire to start and grow their own business. They wanted to tap into their creative side, while honoring their passion and talents for serving others in a healthcare setting. The world of medical aesthetics opened those doors for them, and the idea of Bend Aesthetics & Wellness blossomed into fruition in the fall of 2019!
The First Year
While Bend Aesthetic’s doors have been open officially since November, COVID-19 forced them to shut their doors for several months this spring. It’s hard enough starting your own business, but add a global pandemic to the mix, and they’ve been through the ringer! They are now open with lots of precautions and protocols (read below to hear my recap) and they now have two more amazing nurse injectors on their team and a Physician’s Assistant injector! Jamie Hopewell, a Family Nurse Practitioner, and Scott Murrell, RN both come from extensive medical backgrounds and each bring a unique set of skills to the table. Alyssa Abbey is a physician’s assistant that comes to the clinic with many years of experience working in dermatology clinics in the PNW.
The Clinic
While the clinic began in the heart of the Northwest BOD community (add hyperlink to NW BOD blog), they outgrew their old space and expanded their clinic space into a beautiful home on the Colorado strip of the Box Factory area. The clinic is beautiful, and the space is big enough to accommodate their new laser line–the Genius IPL and Microneedling machines.
They continue to prioritize the safety of their patients, and they went above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable in their space. Leslie is brilliant at what she does and the other injectors have received rave reviews from friends and family as well!
