FivePine Lodge

The Perfect Getaway at FivePine Lodge

Hello Bend! My husband and I recently celebrated our 15-year anniversary. We had been planning a big trip to mark the momentous milestone, however, the current COVID environment had other plans. Instead, we opted for a staycation at the FivePine Lodge in Sisters. With cabins sprinkled amongst tall pine trees, it provides a truly authentic, and quite luxurious, Central Oregon escape.

FivePine Lodge is located on the edge of Sisters, as you come into town from Bend, and backs up to the Three Sisters Wilderness. The cabins are spacious, lodge inspired and include a gas burning fireplace to instantly set the ambiance!

If you reserve a “Romance Cabin”, you will find an in-room soaking tub added to the list of cabin amenities. Take the romance up a notch by calling ahead and requesting a rose petal and champagne service.  These extras are not advertised on their website so be sure to ask about them when making your reservation.

Another perk this amazing spa resort has to offer is the complimentary guest breakfast. Since our visit was during the height of COVID precautions, FivePine Lodge delivered a breakfast box to each cabin complete with freshly baked scones and mimosas!

The beauty of the FivePines Lodge staycation is you can conveniently embrace all that the quaint town of Sisters and the surrounding Three Sisters Wilderness has to offer. If you are an avid mountain biker, the Lodge is adjacent to miles of trails. My husband loved keeping our bikes at the cabin and going for an early morning ride! If cruiser bikes are more your speed, the resort has them available to borrow to take a leisurely ride into town. We enjoyed biking to the Sisters Coffee Company in the morning to grab a local cup of joe and a tasty breakfast sandwich!

Our favorite outdoor dining restaurants in Sisters are The Open Door Wine Bar and The Depot. Both of these restaurants have a smaller indoor dining space, so be sure to call in advance to secure a table–especially with COVID. FivePine Lodge also shares a parking lot with Three Creeks Brewing. Offering indoor and outdoor dining options, this is a convenient lunch and dinner spot for guests of the resort. We ordered take out and enjoyed our meal from the cabin patio while soaking in the scenery!

If you are looking for outdoor adventures during your stay, there are plenty to be found in the area! We’ve written hiking blog posts on: the Metolius River, Chush Falls, Proxy Falls, Sahalie & Koosah Falls, and the Tamolitch Blue Pool. All are worthy of a visit, but if you only have enough time for one or two, check out our write-ups to see which ones spark your interest the most.

Be sure to stop by the Sister’s Smokehouse to pick up a picnic lunch on the way to your hiking destination. Their sandwiches are loaded with freshly sliced meat and their beef jerky is delicious! There is also a fabulous winery within a short drive – Faith, Hope & Charity – which offers spectacular views of the Three Sisters, for which the winery was named.

After a long day of hiking and/or biking, nothing hits the spot more than a visit to FivePine Lodge’s very own Shibui Spa! Because they are taking COVID precautions to the extreme, we felt completely secure in our visit. The main entrance is locked and only scheduled guests are granted entry. Of course, the communal areas were not in full operation during our visit and we weren’t able to schedule our preferred couple’s massage during this time, but that’s a small sacrifice for what I would definitely call one of the best massages I’ve ever had!

If you are looking for a top-notch location to celebrate a special occasion, a Central Oregon staycation experience, or you are planning a visit to our area and want to have a memorable stay, add FivePine Lodge to the top of your list! One thing I’ve learned while navigating this pandemic is to always look for the silver linings. Although our 15-year anniversary trip wasn’t what we originally planned, and our stay at FivePine Lodge was a bit modified due to many COVID precautions, it actually gave us the opportunity to slow down to fully embrace and enjoy our amazing cabin and our time together!
