Hello Bend! Fall is in the air and that means a family trip to Smith Rock Pumpkin Patch should be on the calendar. As one of the premier pumpkin patches in Central Oregon, set against the stunning backdrop of Smith Rock, this action-packed pumpkin patch is sure to become an annual family tradition. It sure did for us!
In Texas and Florida, our “pumpkin patches” were set up in a school or church parking lot, in the sweltering heat. At Smith Rock Ranch, you walk through hundreds of pumpkins and pull your favorite right off the vine. It’s only about 30 minutes north of Bend, in Terrebonne, and it couldn’t be more picturesque!
The Ranch
Smith Rock Ranch is a real working farm! The Lisignoli family grows carrots, onions, bluegrass seed, wheat, hay, pumpkins and squash, and they’ve been opening the farm up for a pumpkin patch every October since 1998. With pumpkin cannons, a corn maize and so much more, there is truly something for everyone to enjoy!
Activities
Pumpkin Patch & Harvest Market: Celebrate autumn in Central Oregon with this amazing pumpkin patch! Enjoy the beautiful backdrop of Smith Rock as you find your family’s perfect pumpkins. Carving pumpkins and a myriad of specialty pumpkins are available to make your front porch stand out this autumn season. NO tickets or tokens are needed for the pumpkin patch and market! The Harvest Market is the place to go for specialty squash, gourds, fall décor, and local honey & jam.
Themed Corn Maize: Get lost in the acres of corn in an epic maze that changes theme every year! The 2026 theme is 250 Years of Freedom, in honor of America’s 250th birthday! Our very first year the theme was Monsters, Inc., and we spent a good 45 minutes wandering through it. Don’t worry, parents, they give you a map when you enter! This activity requires 1 maize ticket per person (kids 5 and under are free with a paid adult). The last maize ticket is sold at 5:30pm and everyone MUST be out by 6:00pm!
Pumpkin Cannons: This crowd pleaser is one of Drew and Jeff’s favorites every time we visit! Sometimes the lines are VERY long, so we’d divide and conquer with one kid per adult, then meet up at the cannons so both kids got a chance to launch pumpkins into the air! Prepare to spend 1 token per shot. This one is as much fun to watch as it is to do, so be sure it’s your first stop to avoid the lines that grow throughout the day.
Zoo Train: ALL ABOARD!! This fun zoo animal train was always Emmy’s favorite! The lines may be long, so prepare to wait if you’re there during a busy time. 1 token per rider, and kids 2 and under ride free with a paid adult.
Snoopy Tram: New since our days at the ranch! Ride a tram through the corn while following along with the story of Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin. 1 token per person, 2 and under free with a paid adult.
Animal House (Petting Zoo): Make special new furry friends! There’s a handwashing station right there. 1 token for entry, and kids 2 and under get in free with a paid adult.
Pony Rides: A favorite with the little cowgirls and cowboys! For kids under 70 lbs. Prepare to spend 2 tokens per ride.
Skull Hollow Shooting Gallery: Get in touch with your inner cowboy at this western-themed shooting gallery! Compete with friends and family to see who gets the highest score! Ages 5 and up.
Barnyard Golf: Putt-putt golf for every age! 1 token gets you all 9 holes on this fun barnyard course. Keep in mind that kids 7 and under MUST be accompanied by an adult!
Horse Drawn Wagon Rides: Ride in a wagon pulled by beautiful, majestic draft horses! You’ll want your camera for this one! 1 token per person, ONLY offered Saturday & Sunday, 10:00am–4:00pm.
Old Barn Market & Photo Booth: The Old Barn is free to walk through and full of locally made products. Don’t miss the photo booth next to the shooting gallery!
Live Music: Enjoy live music on Saturdays & Sundays from noon to 4:00pm, weather permitting. See their Facebook page for the band lineup!

Lessons We Learned Our First Year
Get your pumpkins first. Even though the kids wanted to jump into the activities the minute we arrived, it was so nice to have our pumpkins back at the car and enjoy the rest of the day.
Grab a wheelbarrow on your way in. The ranch provides them, but they go fast on busy days. Pick one up in the parking lot or near the entrance so you’re not stuck waiting in line or running back for one.
Dress for dust. The pumpkin patch is super dusty, so wear the right clothes and shoes and be ready to get dirty. Our first year, I wore little slip-on tennis shoes and black leggings… a really bad choice!
The “Know Before You Go” List
- Wear shoes that can get dusty/muddy!
- Bring your camera for epic family photos & stunning backdrops.
- BUY your tickets and tokens online BEFORE you go to skip the line.
- Divide and Conquer: you’ll get the most fun out of your day if you focus on the high-priority activities and split up waiting in the lines!
- Go early in the month or on a Friday for shorter lines.
- Pay for your pumpkins at the Harvest Market (the big red building behind the old barn) BEFORE 6:00pm.
- The whole ranch is CLOSED on Mondays.
- Screenshot the farm map from their website so it’s on your phone when you get there.
Tickets & Tokens
Tokens are the ranch’s currency for activities, and they’re $4 each. Most activities take 1 token (pony rides take 2).
Buy online to skip the line! Online sales run September 1–October 25, and ticket packages include 1 maize ticket plus activity tokens. You’ll pick an arrival time, but don’t stress, you just need to come that day and there’s no time limit on your stay.
Redeem at the Bank: Trade your online receipt for tickets and tokens at the Bank, the first little yellow building you’ll pass coming from the parking lot. Tickets and tokens can be redeemed Friday at noon through Sunday at 5:30pm.
Online tickets are non-refundable, BUT leftover tokens can be used as credit toward your pumpkins or saved for next October!

The 2026 season opened September 26 and runs through Halloween. They close at 4:00pm on October 31!

Smith Rock Pumpkin Patch FAQ
How much are pumpkins? Carving pumpkins are $0.50/lb, and specialty pumpkins are priced as marked.
Do I need a ticket for the pumpkin patch? NO! Tickets and tokens are only for the maize and activities.
Can I bring my dog? Yes, on a leash! Your pup can run free in the Bark Park, but dogs are NOT allowed in the maize.
Is the corn maze haunted? Nope! It’s family-friendly fun, not a scare.
When is the best time to go? Fridays and earlier in October have the shortest lines. Late-October weekends are the busiest!
How far is it from Bend? About 30 minutes north, in Terrebonne, right near Smith Rock State Park.
What a fabulous fall activity for the family, and only a short drive from Bend! Make a day of it and pair your visit with nearby Steelhead Falls, a family-friendly hike close to Bend! Visiting Central Oregon? Make it a weekend and stay at the SCP Redmond Hotel, just a short drive from Smith Rock!
