Sparrow Bakery

Like everything else at Sparrow Bakery in Bend, the hot chocolate is house-made, exceptionally good, and thoroughly unique. Paired with a croissant, a bagel or any of their other treats, it’s the perfect winter day treat. Also incredibly stunning is their latte art! Victorian Café

At the Victorian Café, the “Victorian Chocolate Winter” is an adult beverage featuring Irish cream, Kahlua, amaretto and hot chocolate. Topped with whipped cream, it’s the ultimate warm drink for those 21 and over! Pairs nicely with that feeling of success after a long day skiing at the mountain.

Sisters Coffee Company

Sisters Coffee is truly a must-stop if you’re in the area. Their menu offers a simple cup of hot chocolate that will satisfy any age from kiddos to adults. Sometimes simple is best and in this case, it really rings true! The café on Hood Avenue provides a warm atmosphere and a variety of food and treats to pair with your drinks.

Brother Jon’s

Have you ever seen a more enthusiastic reindeer, I mean kid, than this picture of Drew with his Hot Cocoa at Brother Jon’s? It’s a simple treat for the kids while the adults get to enjoy the full spectrum of the alehouse drink menu! We love to go every year after the Bend Christmas parade.

McKay Cottage

Along with offering one of the best breakfast menus in all of Central Oregon, McKay Cottage also makes a great cup of Ghirardelli Hot Chocolate. Piled high with whipped cream, this drink is a great addition to a big old breakfast.

Lone Pine Coffee Roasters

Tucked away in Tin Pan Alley in downtown Bend, Lone Pine has one of the best cups of hot chocolate in town. Order the house-made Belgian waffle and prepare to have your socks blown off! Can you cook us breakfast EVERY day?

Bend Brewing Company

In all our research, this cocoa cocktail was one of the best! Only for adults, this Butterscotch cocoa cocktail features Butterscotch schnapps, hot chocolate, whipped cream & a generous caramel drizzle. Find a seat on one of the heated cement benches for a truly amazing Bend winter experience!

Thump Coffee:

House made from scratch with love. Try the hot cocoa with literally any of their pastries and you’ll be coming back for a weekly visit.

Backporch:

Made from scratch, this cocoa is amazing! With some of the friendliest baristas in town, this spot is a fun place for the whole family! Grab Foxtail goodies to go with your cocoa to complete your treat!

Looney Bean:

This little stand on the edge of Drake Park is a family favorite–especially if you have young kids! Grab your cocoa and head to the back lawn area to play in the snow, watch the ducks in the river, and get some wiggles out!

Dutch Bros:

We love Dutch Bros (read our blog post HERE) and how cute is it that they decorate the straw with whipped cream? This is definitely an Emmy favorite!

HOT CHOCOLATE

Honorable Mentions:

Pine Tavern:

While Pine Tavern is closed for the foreseeable future, we’ve always made the best winter memories here! From Santa photos to apres ski hot chocolate traditions, Pine Tavern’s hot cocoa was always one of Emmy’s favorites!

Timberline Lodge:

If you’re into horror movies like “The Shining” and have a desire to pop into the infamous Timberline Lodge to check out part of the set, make sure to stop by the restaurant and grab a cup of hot cocoa! Look at this ginormous mug! It was EPIC!

  1. Nothing makes a hot chocolate sweeter than whipped cream and sprinkles! Kevista makes a delicious hot chocolate and really does it up extra special for the kiddos.

  2. Whipped cream is a MUST!!
Kids always go for marshmallows; but they truly love anything with chocolate and sprinkles.
